Imagine Nigeria 2050 will inspire, educate, facilitate and organize Nigerians to take charge of their nation’s destiny and to shape the nation towards its best self by the year 2050. We begin by giving a voice to the people and facilitating the journey of the individual Nigerian from the current undesirable realities to the possible impossibilities of a great Nigerian nation.

At a population growth rate of 2.6% per annum, which is higher than the global average of 1.5%, Nigeria is projected to be the third most populous country in the world by the year 2050, trailing only China and India. Economic projections also indicate that Nigeria could become one of the largest economies in the world by 2050.

In spite of the country’s current challenges – challenges that are multifaceted and enormous – projections indicate that being a Nigerian and living in Nigeria can become much more desirable by the year 2050 if the right decisions are made to foster true nationhood, build stable and efficient governance structures and systems, invest in human capital development and critical infrastructure, and promote social inclusion to ensure that no one is left behind.
